It costs a lot for a place in a privately run home and the UK Government and Spanish authorities will not help with costs". Care in your own home or a nursing home is required by 1 in 3 retired people in UK or Spain. The cost over years can run into hundreds of thousands, in most cases far more than death taxes which most expats, other than the wealthy, worry about needlessly.
